Upcoming Service Trips

Jacob Richards, community service coordinator, has announced two upcoming service trips.

Richards wrote in an email to the campus, “On October 22nd-24th, we will be volunteering in Port Austin, Michigan. We will be working with the Port Austin Historical Society (https://portaustinhistorycenter.com/) to put on our first ever Disney-themed walk through the woods for the children in that area. The volunteering will include setting up for this event in the woods, dressing in costume and participating in this event, and then helping to clean up the trail afterwards.”

The sign up for this trip begins at 12:15pm Friday, Oct. 8. by emailing jrichards@olivetcollege.edu, saying that you would like to attend the Port Austin Service Trip.

As a reminder, students are only expected to pay for one cost during Service Trips, which is meals on the road. For the Port Austin Service Trip, there will only be one meal on the road (a cost of $10-$15). Outside of this meal, all costs are covered by the Service Learning Department.

Another service trip is planned for Nov. 12-14 to Deerlodge, Tennessee, volunteering for the Morgan-Scott Project (https://morganscottproject.org/). Sign up for that trip will begin at 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 29.
