Say “cheese”, Olivet Welcomes New Photography Studio
Heather Wilkey returned to her hometown, Olivet, to open a photography studio. At the studio, Wilkey specializes in newborn photography, but she also does children, family, and senior portraits. She is a member of the Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers International (APNPI).
“My clients are those who value portraits and find importance in capturing the moments.” Wilkey said.
For photography students, a new studio means potential internships. Wilkey has not set up an internship program yet, but she is willing to let people shadow her.
Sophomore Kailey Collins is taking photography this semester.
“There’s no doubt I’d be interested in shadowing or doing an internship with the new business in town. The more experience, the better. I love the idea of gaining perspective through others and that'd be a great opportunity to do so.” Collins said.
Another photography student, sophomore Isaiah Bailey, gave his thoughts on the new studio.
“I would like to shadow to see their process of things and learn all I can to help myself.” Bailey said.
