In Olivet more than 350 voters turned out on Election Day, Nov. 6.

Olivet helped elect Michigan’s 49 governor, Gretchen Whitmer. She is only the second woman to be governor of the state.

Locally, Sarah VandenHeuvel, a student employment coordinator at Olivet College won a term on the Bellvue school board. Kelly Rossman McKinney, a board of trustee member lost in a bid for state senate in district 24.

Olivet schools’ millage proposal squeaked by with a win and Dean G. Peters and Anthony Faulkner both earned seats on the Olivet schoolboard, where Mary Barkley will also claim a seat to finish a term.

All three ballot Proposals passed in the city of Olivet as well as the state.
