Olivet College’s Insurance and Risk Management program has been named a “College Standout” for preparing students to work in the insurance industry by Best’s Review magazine, a monthly insurance news publication.
Olivet College is one of 20 colleges and universities named to the list and the only Michigan school included. Others named list include Florida State University, University of Wisconsin, University of Georgia, and Temple University.
Olivet College was noted for its industry engagement initiatives, which include on-campus speakers and student involvement in industry events, as well as for its graduates having a strong work ethic and a commitment to pursuing designations
Tom Humphreys, director of the Risk Management and Insurance Center at Olivet, said, “We are very honored to be recognized by Best’s Review as an institution that stands out in the discipline of risk management and insurance. As the smallest school by enrollment in the ranking, the ability for faculty to work with our students in small class sizes, and many times one-on-one, really sets our students up to gain knowledge and experience that larger schools can’t provide.”
