Your weekend just became a whole lot more fun

Backroads Saloon, a local restaurant and entertainment venue located in Marshall, Michigan, boasts one of the largest dance floors in the Midwest and is now offering free Thursday admission and giveaways to Olivet College students who show their college ID now through Sunday, Feb. 14.

After opening in July 2014 with the goal of bringing country, rock and classic-rock entertainment and performers to the greater Battle Creek area, “Backroads” has quickly become a popular attraction thanks to their offerings of local music talent, country line dancing and professionals lessons, as well as private parties for special events. “Where the pavement ends and fun begins” is their promise.

While dancing literally takes center stage with their unique arena-style dance floor and bar stool-seating that surrounds its perimeter, Backroads also caters to those who want the ultimate TV experience with two monstrous projector screens to watch sports teams and popular shows. Pizza, nachos, wings, burgers and other options are their menu headliners.

Customers can also access the upstairs area that encompasses the complex for those who want to get away from the music, but still observe the activities below. Conference rooms are available to host any type of event, and rooms that seat up to 60 people as well.

Line dancing lessons are offered Wednesday through Saturday, as well as $5 couples lessons. Backroads’ fun, educated instructors will work to ensure everyone has an enjoyable learning and dancing experience.

Open Wednesday through Saturday, Backroads is located 12 miles south of Olivet. Admission charges are $5 on weekdays and $10 on weekends for those 18-20 years of age and $5 for those 21 years of age or older. Visit backroadssaloon.com for information, including their upcoming entertainment.
