Chamber teams up with Wee Ones for Halloween Event

The Wee Ones Pre-School annual Pumpkin Run has spawned an Oli-Ween event, Saturday, Oct. 31 in Olivet.

The Olivet Community Chamber of Commerce is offering a youth bicycle give-away as part of the Wee-Ones event, which features a costume walk and run as well as games, food and activities.

Merchants displaying an orange pumpkin sign will be stamping special Pumpkin Passports. Families who gather passport stamps from area merchants from 9 to 11 a.m. that Saturday can then enter the bicycle give-away. Passports need to be returned to Wee One’s by 11:15 a.m. The Wee Ones run, jog, creep and dash follows the bicycle drawing. All participants are encouraged to wear costumes.

This Oli-Ween event is part of the Olivet Chamber’s work to encourage the community to shop locally and support hometown events. On Oct. 16, the Chamber held a community tailgate party before the Olivet High School Homecoming parade and game. Local merchants featured white and green-painted windows in support.

The Chamber Oli-Ween give-away is supported by the following Chamber merchants: Mary’s Hair Care, Independent Bank, Tim’s Pizza, Oak Chest Resale Shop, Seasonal Inspirations, Fay’s Willow Tree Coffee & Bakery, This and That Treasurers and Collectibles, Evelyn Calogero, attorney, Double Nickel Party Store, Olivet Auto Garage, Main Street Stylers, Olivet Hardware, Eaton Federal Savings and OC Lamplighter.
