Olivet, Michigan - Olivet College has announced a new financial service for students, the Collegiate Credit Union. According to the College website, the credit union aims to support students financially and provide them with a variety of financial services and resources.
The Collegiate Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution providing a wide range of financial services, including savings accounts, checking accounts, loans, and credit cards. Additionally, the credit union offers financial education resources, such as workshops and financial counseling sessions for Olivet students.
According to Olivet College Director of Career Readiness and Leadership Development, Amy Redford-Popp, “Collegiate will provide financial education, wellness, and literacy programs to empower students to confidently create and nurture their personal and professional goals.”
The launch of the Collegiate Credit Union is just one of the many initiatives undertaken by Olivet College to support its students financially. The college also offers a variety of scholarships and financial aid programs to help students afford their education.
Popp said other partnership opportunities include: Access to on campus and virtual financial literacy and wellness programs; sponsorship of professional networking events (job shadows, resume bootcamps, company site visits); and a ATM available on campus (anticipated this fall).
Students can access their accounts online or via mobile app, allowing them to monitor finances from anywhere at any time.
Alex Rose, Junior, said, “I’m excited to see how this paired with the new student center will help grow the campus and make things more available on the campus”.
