Iconic and creative album covers make up the newest exhibit at the Kresge Foundation Art Gallery at Olivet College.
“A Window On World Cultures and Art History” was created by Douglas P. Sjoquist in an exhibit that tells music and art history in a form that is disappearing and unique in today’s world.
Long-playing records (LPs) are not the recording method of choice for music lovers these days, but in the 1940s to the 1980s, they provided not only cover for the fragile record, but also canvases for artists and musicians.
The exhibit is on display Nov. 1 - 29 at the art building, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and by appointment.
A reception will be held Friday, Nov. 2 at 5:30 p.m. and information about the exhibit will be shared.
