•Clyde the Comet has a new friend named Haley.

Haley is a nod to the other famous and true Halley’s Comet. Haley represents strong will and electric energy, taking the world by storm whenever she appears.

According to Elizabeth Howell, writer for Space.com, The Halley Comet is named after English astronomer Edmond Halley, who examined reports of a comet approaching Earth in 1531, 1607 and 1682. He concluded that these three comets were actually the same comet returning over and over again and predicted the comet would come again in 1758.

•Over the summer, alumni Rod Hathaway donated an anonymous amount of money to refurnish the gym floor in Cutler, incorporating the College’s new logo.According to the Olivet College website, Hathaway graduated in 1981 and played basketball here.
