At approximately 10 p.m. officers were on routine patrol within the Village of Bellevue when they observed a vehicle run through the four way stop sign located at Elizabeth and Jackson St. at a high rate of speed. Not knowing if a crime had just occurred, officers got behind this vehicle and attempted to stop it while it was driving south on Main St. The driver of the vehicle did not pull over and accelerated in an obvious attempt to elude officers. Officers continued to pursue the vehicle and with the assistance of Olivet Police Department were able to successfully deploy stop sticks deflating three of the vehicles four tires on Butterfield Hwy, in between I-69 and Main St in Olivet. The vehicle continued to flee EB on Butterfield Hwy after hitting the stop sticks and then turned southbound onto Marshall Rd. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on Marshall Rd near V Drive in Calhoun County. The driver and passenger were immediately arrested without further incident. The driver has charges pending for flee and eluding, driving without a license and probation violation. The passenger was eventually released with no charges after being interviewed by police.
