Calendar Time! Homecoming Week in rearview mirror

It’s here, or it will be next week -- the 2015 Comet Homecoming week. Here’s a look at some of the Sept. 30-Oct. 4 events:

 

Wednesday, Sept. 30

  • Service Day – the annual fall service event is now a part of the Homecoming calendar; all day, on and off campus projects.

Thursday, Oct. 1

  • Celebration in the Square – 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., featuring a student parade, banner competition, games and a bonfire.

Friday, Oct. 2 

  • It’s spirit day – wear your colors!

  • Kappa Sigma Alpha Golf Outing, 9 a.m., Alwyn Downs, Marshall.

  • 1965 Alumni Reunion Luncheon – Noon, Kirk Center.

  • Career Mentoring Event, 2:30 p.m., Barker-Cawood Lounge, Mott Auditorium.

  • Alumni Art Exhibit Reception, 5 to 7:30 p.m., Riethmiller Blackman Art Building.

  • Olivet Awards Celebration for Distinguished Alumni, 6:30 p.m., The Cutler Event Center.

Saturday, Oct. 3

  • 5K Fun Run/Walk Under the Oaks, 9 a.m., start in front of Mott Auditorium.

  • Red vs. White Pentathlon, 9 to 10:30 a.m., Upton Pool.

  • Dedication and Ribbon Cutting of Roznowski Learning Commons, 9:30 a.m., Burrage Library.

  • Collage Concert, 10 a.m., Olivet Congregational Church.

  • Greek Societies Open Houses, 10 a.m. to noon.

  • Men’s Alumni Baseball Game, 11 a.m., baseball field.

  • Red and White Tailgate, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., The Cutler Event Center.

  • Football game vs. Adrian College, 2 p.m., The Cutler Athletic Complex.

  • Women’s Soccer vs. Kalamazoo, 2:30 p.m., soccer field.

  • Greek Societies Open House, 5 to 7 p.m.

  • Homecoming Celebration at the Lamplighter, 5 p.m. to midnight.

  • 1960s Reunion Banquet, 5:30 to 10 p.m., Roznowski Learning Commons, Burrage Library.

Sunday, Oct. 4

  • 17th Annual Wrestling Alumni Golf Outing, 10 a.m., Alwyn Downs, Marshall.
