Wrestling
The wrestling team opened up the season with a loss against Trine (Ind.) University Nov. 11 at the Cutler Event Center. It was an exciting match between two unbeaten MIAA teams. Olivet College duals begin 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Football
Five Olivet College football players have earned 2008 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District IV honors. Junior defensive back Alex Hill, senior offensive lineman Phil Koops, senior defensive back Mike Terranova, junior fullback Sean Misko, and junior Mark VanLente are all recipients of the honor.
In the last game of the season, the Comets lost 19-7 to Adrian College. Junior Pat Clasgens scored Olivet’s only touchdown Nov. 15.

Women’s Basketball
The season opener was lost 78-59 to Defiance College Nov. 15. Freshman Olivia Yarrell had 10 points, senior Vallen VanZyll contributed nine and senior Lauren Fishwick had eight.

Soccer
Sophomores Mike May and Ethan Felsing and senior Graham Lockwood all made the 2008 All-MIAA teams. May made first while the other two made second-team.
Also earning honors were freshman Lizzy Julian and senior Kellie O’Dowd. Both made the All-MIAA second-team.

Swimming and Diving
Two recent meets ended with two wins for the men and two losses and one win for the women. The men won 10 of the 11 events to clinch the win against Calvin College with 127 points. The women won four events.
In the second meet, the women had three wins, including a new school record set by senior Amy Johnson to beat Ohio Northern University. It wasn’t enough to beat the host, Hillsdale College though. Again, the men took first in 10 of 13 events.
